On Sunday, April 27, 2025, the Pine Orchard Yacht & Country Club in Branford, Connecticut, hosted the “Broadway Magic Hour” fundraiser. Organized by Phil & Lois DeLise for Feeding Families Foundation, the event combined mesmerizing performances with a heartfelt mission to support families of critically ill children in the hospital.
A Spellbinding Afternoon for a Noble Cause
Attendees were treated to an afternoon filled with awe-inspiring magic, comedy, and illusion, courtesy of New York City’s top-rated family magicians, Jim Vines and Carl Mercurio. Known for their appearances on “Penn & Teller: FOOL US,” the duo delivered a high-energy performance that left the audience both amazed and laughing.
The event wasn’t just about entertainment; it was a fundraiser aimed at supporting Feeding Families Foundation’s mission. This 501(c)(3) organization is dedicated to eliminating hospital food insecurity for parents and caregivers of critically ill children. By covering the cost of hospital meals and having those meals delivered directly to patient rooms, the foundation allows parents to remain by their child’s bedside and eliminates the added stress of meal expenses.
Community Support and Engagement
Guests enjoyed an open bar, light appetizers, and the captivating show, all while contributing to a cause that touches the lives of many local families going through some of the hardest times of their lives. After the show, Bob & Shelley Massey of Massey’s Plate Glass and Aluminum announced that they were covering the cost of the entire event and presented Feeding Families Foundation with an amazing $10,000 check! We have so much gratitude for the Massey’s and their support of our mission.
