Cakes For Kids Program
Unfortunately, children with critical illnesses may spend their birthday in the hospital. Feeding Families Foundation thinks every child should get a cake on their birthday while inpatient.
In light of this, we have partnered with local vendors to provide cakes for children with critical illnesses who have birthdays while inpatient. Similar to our Parent Plate Program, Cakes for Kids will start by providing cakes to children on the hematology/oncology floor at Yale Children’s Hospital before expanding to other areas of the hospital.
Child Life and the nurses decorate and provide gifts to the children in the hospital. Cakes for Kids will help to make each child’s birthday even more special.
